Although young voters account for half of the voting population, they are less likely to vote than older Americans.
That's not good enough for us.
Elections are about our nation's future — and when young people vote, progressive change happens. Our mission is to reach out to new voters and tap into their unparalleled energy. Just this past year, high school students started a nation-wide movement for sensible gun control laws in the face of skepticism.
We've set records when we rally in the streets. We've called our representatives. We've resisted against rhetoric and bills that attempt to undermine the fabric of America — diversity, compassion, and freedom of the press.
But most importantly, we need to get out and vote.
We are a team of students aiming to do just that. Vision Blue is an entirely volunteer-run organization that turned out young Democrats in the 2018 election and will continue to do so for the 2020 elections.
Victory in VA-10!
From Vision Blue’s conception in the summer of 2018, we have focused on flipping Virginia's 10th Congressional district for the midterm.
And we did just that.
With the support of donors, we reached over 44,000 voters. And for the first time since 1980, Democrats have won Virginia’s 10th!
Congresswoman Comstock branded herself as a moderate Republican, despite her voting with Trump 97.8% of the time. We thought that was unacceptable, and 56.2% of the tenth district voters agreed with us. Come January 2019, Northern Virginia will be represented by the amazing Congresswoman-elect Jennifer Wexton! Jennifer has been a fearless champion for gun reform, LGBTQ+ rights, and women’s rights. We’re so excited to see what she accomplishes in the House!
